Sri Lankan off-spinner Muttiah Muralitharan is the most wicket-taker in international cricket history
Muttiah Muralitharan was one of the greatest spinners in international cricket history. He had a long international career from 1992 to 2011. The off-spinner played 133 Tests, 350 ODIs and 12 T20Is where he picked up 800, 534 and 13 wickets respectively. Ending up his international career with 1,347 wickets, Muralitharan is the most wicket-taker in international cricket history. In addition, the off-spinner is also the most wicket-taker in both the Test and ODI histories.
He played a huge role to set up the Sri Lanka national cricket team as one of the tough competitive sides. His never give up attitude proved the strength of the Sri Lankan team. He was always a headache for the batsmen.
However, Muralitharan also faced some significant controversies, mostly for his bowling actions. But he easily hid those controversies with his great iconic smile.

Since 2015, he is serving for Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) as a bowling coach. In IPL 2016, SRH won their maiden IPL title.
