Barsapara Cricket Stadium (Guwahati) will host the first two home matches of Rajasthan Royals (RR) in the upcoming IPL season (IPL 2020). The Rajasthan franchise will play their other five home matches of the new IPL season at their original home venue, Sawai Mansingh Stadium (Jaipur).

Rajasthan Royals will begin their journey in the IPL 2020 on 2nd April with the away match against Chennai Super Kings (CSK). After that match, the Rajasthan franchise will play their next two games as the hosts. Their next two games will be against Delhi Capitals (DC) and Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) on 5th and 9th April respectively. Rajasthan Royals has decided to play both those home matches at Barsapara Cricket Stadium (Guwahati).

Rajasthan Royals has the tendencies to test their home matches outside Sawai Mansingh Stadium (Jaipur). In IPL 2010, they played some of their home matches at Motera Stadium (Ahmedabad). Later, in IPL 2015, they played their home matches at Motera Stadium (Ahmedabad) and Brabourne Stadium (Mumbai).

Barsapara Cricket Stadium (Guwahati) hasn’t hosted an IPL match yet. So, the IPL 2020 will be the first time when the stadium will host an IPL match.

Apart from their first two home games, Rajasthan Royals will continue their remaining home IPL 2020 matches at Sawai Mansingh Stadium (Jaipur). All their home matches of IPL 2020 will begin at 20:00 IST.

Rajasthan Royals won the inaugural edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL 2008). However, they have never reached the final of the other IPL tournaments. In 2013, 2015 and 2018 editions, the Rajasthan franchise reached the playoffs but failed to qualify for the final of those editions.
