In this lockdown period, the 34-year-old Indian aggressive left-handed opening batsman Shikhar Dhawan has recently faced a Q&A session on his official Instagram account. During that session, Dhawan revealed his favourite batting partner as well as his best entertaining friend.
Shikhar Dhawan is one of the successful openers in Indian cricket history. The dashing left-handed batsman is famous for his fearless aggressive batting. After making his international debut in October 2010, Dhawan has played 34 Tests, 136 ODIs and 61 T20Is where the left-handed batsman has scored 2,315 runs (average 40.61), 5,688 runs (average 45.14) and 1,588 runs (average 28.35) respectively.
In his international career, Dhawan has batted with 25 different partners. However, unsurprisingly, he has named Rohit Sharma as his favourite batting partner. They are the regular opening batting partners in limited-overs cricket for a long time. Rohit and Dhawan have put 165 partnerships in international cricket, mostly in the limited-overs cricket, and added 6,638 runs in their partnership with an average of 40.47. They have put 20 century and 21 half-century partnerships in international cricket.
While they have put the opening partnership of 6,545 runs in international cricket, they are the third most successful opening partners for India in international cricket.
