Former Indian captain Sourav Ganguly is reportedly ready to become the next President of Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI). To take up this major role, Ganguly is ready to leave his role for the Indian Premier League (IPL) franchise side Delhi Capitals (DC).
At present, Sourav Ganguly is the President of Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB). BCCI will hold the AGM (Annual General Meeting) on 23rd October where Ganguly is likely to become BCCI president unanimously.
Once Ganguly will officially become the President of BCCI, he has to leave the advisor post of Delhi Capitals. He has taken this role ahead of the IPL 2019.
Before the IPL 2019, the Delhi franchise was struggling for a long time. From 2013 to 2018 season, the Delhi franchise hugely failed in the IPL tournaments. They never qualified for the playoffs in that long period.

Under the advisor Sourav Ganguly, Delhi Capitals improved remarkably in IPL 2019
However, IPL 2019 was different for the Delhi franchise who has come with the new name Delhi Capitals. DC performed far better in this tournament as they gradually became a consistent team in that tournament. They finally qualified for the playoffs after finishing at the third position in the points table.
Later, Delhi Capitals beat Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in the thrilling Eliminator. However, in the Qualifier 2, DC lost against Chennai Super Kings (CSK). At the end of that tournament, DC finished at the third position. It is their joint-best record in IPL history.
Many have credited Sourav Ganguly for this amazing success. Along with Ricky Ponting-led coaching staff, Ganguly properly guided Shreyas Iyer-led DC in the IPL 2019. After a long time, the fans of Delhi-franchise have enjoyed the IPL tournament.
