According to recent TNN reports, the Indian singer Kanika Kapoor, who recently tested positive for COVID-19 or coronavirus, was present in the same hotel where the South African cricket team stayed.
Recently, the famous Bollywood singer Kanika Kapoor has confirmed that she tested positive for COVID-19. It is worrying for the country as it has been reported that Kanika hid her travel details after recently returned to India from London.
Kanika stayed in Lucknow for some days after returning from London. After she revealed her coronavirus case, the local administration and the Uttar Pradesh health department are trying to track down all the possible persons who came in contact with Kanika in this period.
According to the TNN report, Kanika stayed in a five-star hotel in Lucknow between 14th March and 16th March 2020. Incidentally, the entire South African team also stayed in that same hotel during that period.
An officer claimed according to TNN, “There are reports that she dined in the hotel’s buffet and also attended several guests in the lobby. She was living there at a time when the South African team was staying in the hotel for the ODI match (against India), which eventually was called off. There is information that Kanika was seen briefly attending a news channel’s annual conclave held at the hotel. Therefore, it is important to scan the CCTV footage and list those who came in contact with her.”
Lucknow’s chief medical officer Dr Narendra Agarwal has recently lodged an FIR against Kanika Kapoor for her negligence in this important matter.
He said, “She flouted instructions on home isolation despite being a potential case of Covid-19… Instead of staying at home, she went socialising. Now after having tested positive, she has now put everyone who came in contact with her at risk.”
