Amin Lakhani (Combined XI vs. Indians at Multan in October 1978)
About the bowler: Slow left-arm orthodox bowler Amin Lakhani was a regular player in Pakistan’s domestic cricket. He had played total 136 first-class matches, and 72 List A matches where he had taken 466 wickets and 86 wickets respectively. However, he never played an international cricket match.
The incident of two hat-tricks: It was the match between Combined XI and Indians at Multan in October 1978 where Amin Lakhani had claimed two hat-tricks. Playing for Combined XI, Amin Lakhani had claimed his first hat-trick during the first-innings after dismissing Karsan Ghavri, Srinivasaraghavan Venkataraghavan and Bharath Reddy in the three consecutive deliveries.
In the second innings, Lakhani had repeated one of the most respectable feats for the bowlers after dismissing Mohinder Amarnath, Syed Kirmani, and Kapil Dev. In that match, Lakhani had taken 6 wickets in each innings (6/58 and 6/80), but Indians had still managed to claim a victory by two wickets.
