Indian national selectors hit the headlines for all the wrong reasons these days for the manner in which they treat players. Recently, out-of-favour Indian cricketer Suresh Raina slammed the selectors for not taking additional responsibility towards the senior cricketers who represented the Indian national cricket team.
The senior players have given absolutely everything for the Indian team and it is disheartening to see them being treated harshly just like how Raina is being treated by the national selectors now.

Suresh Raina slams Indian selectors
With chances of him making a comeback look beyond the bounds of possibility, Suresh Raina hit out at the national selectors. In a recent interview with Aaj Tak, Suresh Raina added that he was never notified as to why he was dropped despite clearing Yo-Yo Test and performing well in the minimal chances which he got.
“I think selectors should have taken more responsibility towards the senior players. No matter how big a player you are at the end of the day you always play for the team, you perform, you go home and if you don’t get to play the next morning, then you have to know the reason why I am not getting the batting on the net,” said Suresh Raina.
“Tell me if I have any deficiency then I will work hard. Someone will have to tell where to work hard. If he does not know, then there will be a doubt in his mind somewhere. When the cause is not known, how he will improve,” he added.

Suresh Raina’s international career is off the track now
Suresh Raina has not been tried at least once since his last game for India back in July 2018. With likes of Manish Pandey, Shreyas Iyer, Rishabh Pant and Kedar Jadhav, it is tough to imagine Raina in the big picture.
The left-handed batsman was a significant part of India’s limited-overs team, not a long ago. With selectors showing no faith in Raina, his international career has almost come to a close.
In the last three years, the elegant southpaw hardly got chances to showcase his mettle. He was last seen playing for India during India’s tour of England in 2018.
Suresh Raina was making a comeback to international arena through that tour only but was removed out of the Indian team set up straightaway after India returned from England as he failed to score runs in that crucial foreign tour.
