Wriddhiman Saha replacing Rishabh Pant

The wicketkeeper-batsman Wriddhiman Saha was once a regular playing XI member in Test cricket. Since early 2018, he was battling against some fitness issues. After the Cape Town Test January 2018, Saha was unavailable for the selection in the national team.

Finally, after a long battle, Saha has made his return to the national squad in this series. Though he didn’t get an opportunity during the Antigua Test, Saha can take the wicketkeeping responsibility in the Kingston Test.

Especially when the youngster Rishabh Pant is struggling with his batting form, Saha can earn this opportunity.

Also, it is a very busy tour for Pant. He has already played the three T20Is and three ODIs along with one Test in the ongoing USA and West Indies tour. So, the captain Virat Kohli can decide to give the youngster rest for the Kingston Test to make him fresh ahead of the forthcoming home T20I series against South Africa in September.
