1. IPL 2013 Spot-fixing scandal controversy

IPL 2013 ran with the full of controversies. During that tournament, the Delhi Police arrested three Rajasthan Royals’ (RR) cricketers S Sreesanth, Ankeet Chavan, and Ajit Chandila on the charges of spot-fixing in that tournament.
Later, the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) also entered into the controversy after the Mumbai Crime Branch arrested Gurunath Meiyappan on the charges of betting, conspiracy, and cheating. Meiyappan is the son-in-law of CSK team owner and then BCCI president Narayanaswami Srinivasan.
Soon, many raised the questions on the CSK captain MS Dhoni and the team management. Even later, the petitioner, Harish Salve, accused Dhoni of giving a false statement to save Meiyappan.
However, those controversies didn’t last long for Dhoni, but CSK faced a two-year IPL ban from July 2015. CSK was banned for the alleged involvement of its owners in the IPL 2013 betting case.
