Bangladesh cricketer Soumya Sarkar grabbed a stunning catch in the WT20 2016 match between Bangladesh and Pakistan.

It was the Group 2 match of Super 10 stage in WT20 2016 played at Kolkata on Wednesday. Pakistan decided to bat first after winning the toss. Pakistan played above expectations. Pakistan batsman Mohammad Hafeez was playing a good innings at that moment.

It was the 16.4 overs when Mohammad Hafeez was on 64 runs and Pakistan was looking to reach around 200 run total. Hafeez played a powerful slog sweep off Bangladesh spinner Arafat Sunny. It looked like the ball was destined to cross the boundary easily over the mid-wicket area. But Soumya Sarkar’s outstanding effort thwarted it. First, he took a catch but when he realized that he is going to cross the boundary line, he threw the ball in the air before landing outside the boundary line. Then instantly, he came back inside the boundary line and to complete that catch.

The catch was crucial at that moment as Hafeez was playing comfortably against Bangladesh bowlers.
