The legendary Indian all-rounder Yuvraj Singh smashed six sixes in an over of the English pacer Stuart Broad during a match of the Super Eight stage in the ICC World T20 2007. Recently, Yuvraj revealed what Chris Broad, father of Stuart Broad, said him after that knock.
Yuvraj Singh’s six sixes against Stuart Broad was an unforgettable incident. He is still the only batsman to hit six sixes in an over in the T20I history while he was the second batsman to hit six sixes in an over in the international cricket history. Those sixes also led him to record the fastest fifty in T20 history which is still intact.

Recently, Yuvraj claimed that the ICC match referee Chris Broad came up to him on the next day of that game and said he almost finished his son’s career. Then the senior Broad asked him to sign a shirt for his son. Yuvraj not only gave his Indian jersey but also sent an all the best message.

Yuvraj told BBC podcast, “His dad, Chris Broad, is a match referee and he came up to me the next day and said ‘you almost finished my son’s career and now you need to sign a shirt for him’.
“So I gave my India jersey and wrote a message for Stuart saying, ‘I have been hit for five sixes so I know how it feels. For the future of England cricket, all the best’.”
I don’t think any bowler from India could get hit for six sixes in an over and then have such a fantastic career like Stuart Broad: Yuvraj Singh
While Stuart Broad was a newcomer at that moment, the right-arm pacer is now one of the greatest pacers in England cricket history. He is currently the second most international wicket-taker for England and most T20I wicket-taker for England. Yuvraj praised him for his amazing success in international cricket.

Yuvraj added, “Stuart is one of the best bowlers in the world now. I don’t think any bowler from India could get hit for six sixes in an over and then have such a fantastic career.”
Less than a month ago before that historic T20I match, England cricketer Dimitri Mascarenhas once hit Yuvraj five successive sixes in the final over of an ODI innings at The Oval. Incidentally, Mascarenhas featured in that ICC World T20 match against India where Yuvi hit six sixes to Broad. After hitting the six sixes, Yuvraj first looked to the earlier chaos maker English all-rounder Andrew Flintoff, and then he saw Mascarenhas who smiled at him.

Yuvraj claimed, “Freddie was just being Freddie – he said a few words and I said a few words back.
“I was just happy the six sixes came against England because I got hit for five sixes by Dimitri Mascarenhas a few weeks earlier in an ODI.
“When I hit the sixth six, obviously the first look was at Freddie but the second look was at Dimitri, who gave me a smile.”
