ToggleThe 30-year-old Indian leg-spinner Yuzvendra Chahal completed his 200 T20 wickets on Thursday (15th October) night during the 31st match of the IPL 2020. After reaching that milestone, Chahal became the fifth Indian bowler to take 200 T20 wickets.
It was the match between Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) and Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) at Sharjah Cricket Stadium (Sharjah). RCB captain Virat Kohli, who was playing his 200th T20 match for RCB, decided to bat first after winning the toss. At the end of the first innings, RCB scored 171/6 (20 overs).

In the second innings of the match, RCB leg-spinner Yuzvendra Chahal completed his 200 T20 wickets. Before this match, Chahal got 199 wickets in 179 T20s as he was the only one wicket away to complete 200 wickets in T20 career.
Chahal became the fifth Indian bowler to claim 200 wickets in T20 career after taking his first wicket in this match. In the eighth over of the second innings, Chahal bowled KXIP opener Mayank Agarwal and became the fifth Indian bowler to take 200 T20 wickets. Incidentally, all the five Indian bowlers, who have taken 200 T20 wickets, are spinners.

In the ongoing IPL 2020, Chahal has already taken 11 wickets in eight matches.
Yuzvendra Chahal made his T20 debut on 20th October 2009 where the Haryana leg-spinner played against Punjab. While he made IPL debut for Mumbai Indians in 2013 edition and played only seven matches for that side (including only one match in IPL 2013), he joined for his present IPL team RCB in the next season and since then he is serving for this team continuously.
While the latest IPL match was Chahal’s 92nd IPL match (91st IPL match for RCB), the most wicket-taker for RCB has taken 111 IPL wickets.
Chahal is also a very important member of the Indian limited-overs teams. After his international debut in 2016, Chahal has played 52 ODIs and 42 T20Is, where he has taken 91 and 55 wickets respectively. Chahal is currently the second most T20I wicket-taker for India.
