Case in point, the apex cricket body, is now contemplating banning the use of saliva to shine the ball in international arena amid the coronavirus epidemic. It is well-known that saliva transmits a disease-causing organism to others which will put the players at risks. Notably, the ICC is discussing the idea of letting the use of artificial substances to shine the ball under the supervision of the umpires.

Yuzvendra Chahal jokingly suggests a new rule to ICC

Meanwhile, Chahal said that banning the use of saliva will give an unfair advantage to the batsmen and also hilariously suggested a new rule to the ICC. The leg-spinner said ICC should consider a new rule where batsmen will have to fetch the ball from the stands after they smash a six.

“It will have an impact on drift and swing on the ball. So, in the end, it will become easier for batsmen. So another rule should be added then that if a batsman hits a six then he himself will have to bring back the ball,” Chahal told Sports Tak, as quoted by India Today.

With no cricketing action due to coronavirus pandemic, Yuzvendra Chahal is engaging with fans these days on social media to keep themselves busy. Chahal is spending more time than ever on various platforms.

Recently, Indian captain Virat Kohli had referred to wrist-spinner Yuzvendra Chahal as a clown during a live interaction session with former South Africa cricketer and current Royal Challengers Bangalore teammate AB de Villiers. Even big-hitting West Indies opener Chris Gayle said Chahal is “very annoying” on social media while also adding that he would block him.
