Atletico de Kolkata skipper Luis Garcia was substituted after half time in their 1-1 draw against Delhi Dynamos. After initial fears of a hamstring injury, coach Antonio Lopez Habas confirmed in the post match conference that the former Liverpool man was just tired and he should be fine to play the next game.
Habas: “He was just too tired and so we decided to substitute him after 45 minutes.”
Luis Garcia himself confirmed to the media that it’s a minor setback and he should not be out for too long.
Garcia: “It’s my hamstring. I don’t think it is anything serious but we will have to see.”
Atletico de Kolkata dropped the first points of the tournament in their 1-1 draw against the Delhi outfit. Spaniard Joffre scored from the spot for Atletico de Kolkata and Pavel Elias scored a brilliant goal for Delhi Dynamos from outside the box in the second half to level the game. Rakesh Masih who replaced Luis Garcia in the second half was sent off in the dying minutes of the game. Atletico de Kolkata remain at the top of the table with seven points from three games. Pavel Elias was judged the Man of the Match for his stunner in the second half and brilliant defensive display.
