Big Show is one of those rare superstars in the WWE who is still actively wrestling on TV starting their careers in the 90s. Even at this point, he can be found on Raw or SmackDown TV, putting over newer talents or even veterans like Randy Orton. He’d be gone for sometimes from TV after what Orton did to him. But he could be back, really quick.
Vince McMahon does have a lot of faith in Big Show who continues to come back whenever people think that he’s finally announced retirement. For the past couple of years, it did look like that he’s gone for good. But The World’s Largest Athlete was back on board starting from 2019 fall. He recently revealed the real reason why the hiatus happened.

Big Show Reveals He Had Six Surgeries In Past Two Years

While speaking to Sam Roberts on the Notsam Wrestling podcast, WWE RAW roster member The Big Show opened up about his hip surgeries. Apparently, he’s had six hip surgeries in the past two and a half years. So there’s no way that he was coming back to action going through that traumatizing situation with his body.

Below is what Big Show stated,
“I’ve been through hell the last couple years. I’ve had six hip surgeries in the past two and a half years. That’s why I dropped off the face of the map a little bit.
It also gave me an opportunity to partner with Netflix to do the TV Show. I was fine when I got everything straightened out. I was back on set two months after my last hip surgery.
I can see parts of the show where I wasn’t moving quite that well. The days were long. I’m in a lot better position now. I’m a lot stronger and healthier with no pain. After dealing with that for four years, it’s really nice not to have any pain.”

For those who don’t remember, Big Show wrestled in a Steel Cage Match on Raw against Big Cass back in September 2017. He put over the seven-footer on that night showing incredible athleticism. Cass won the match leaving The Giant with a broken hip. That night marked the end for Show’s regular appearance on TV.
Since then, Big Show has made only a handful of appearances making us believe that his career is over or it will be very soon. As for now, it’s safe to say that he won’t be seen on WWE TV for a while. Randy Orton punted him to the head on RAW which wrote him off WWE TV for at least a few weeks.
