Bray Wyatt and Braun Strowman have quite the history with each other as they’ll be settling the score once and for all on May 10 at Money In The Bank.
They’ve been booked to collide for the Universal Championship match at the upcoming pay-per-view event which will be the first post-WrestleMania 36 WWE Network special. It will serve as one of the main events of the show from SmackDown.
Maria Kanellis Responds If She Would Ever Come Back To WWE
Courtesy of Sky Bet, the betting odds for Braun Strowman vs Bray Wyatt at WWE Money in the Bank have been released. Going by the looks, the reigning champion is the betting favorite to retain his championship as he stands at 4/6. On the other hand, Bray Wyatt is priced as the 11/10 underdog to come out of Money In The Bank as champion.
Triple H On Why He Won’t Compete At Money In The Bank Ladder Match
Thus chances seem pretty low that we’ll be getting a new champion at Money In The Bank 2020. Previously, the thought was that WWE has booked Braun Strowman against just to take away his belt, as early as possible.
The reason behind was that he was never going to be in the Universal Title match at WrestleMania 36, in the first place. So, WWE perhaps made him a champion for the time being.
Braun Strowman won the Universal Championship at WrestleMania 36 defeating Goldberg in a pretty short matchup. Since Roman Reigns backed out of WrestleMania 36, he was inserted right into the match without any such buildup.
Also, Goldberg’s contract was coming to an end and hence it was just a matter of time that he’s going to drop the belt to whomever his opponent was going to be.
But the Monster Among Men could look forward to having quite a longer championship run, it seems. That should be the reason why The Fiend was not booked to face Braun Strowman in the Universal Title match.
As per the promotional posters and current ongoing storyline, Bray Wyatt’s Firefly Funhouse version would be taking on the champion at Money In The Bank. Thus Strowman won’t have to face the unstoppable demon in his first title defense.
