As per the earlier reports, Brock Lesnar vs. Cain Velasquez was imminent to happen after their confrontation on SmackDown FOX premiere. Crown Jewel is going to be the next WWE pay-per-view event in the schedule that emanates from Saudi Arabia on October 31st. Insider updates hinted that the marquee match would take place on that show. This would also become the main event of WWE Crown Jewel in Saudi Arabia. But an injury may just postpone the mouth-watering bout.

The latest reports from Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer claimed that Cain Velasquez needs knee surgery. (Fans must have noticed that he was wearing a knee brace on SmackDown) So, this could put him out of action for a long time depending on what kind of procedure he undergoes. Check out more on what Meltzer has reported,

“They could do Cain [vs. Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania 36] you know do a one and one, Cain gets the surgery and comes back, but if Cain gets the surgery I’m not sure he’s back — if he gets full reconstructive surgery on that knee…let’s say he gets it in November, he’s missing Mania for sure, not even a chance. Maybe he can get minor surgery and be back.”

Update On Future Of Finn Balor Upon Return To NXT

There’s more to the story as Vince McMahon is not impressed with the physique of the former MMA fighter. Paul Heyman posted photos of new WWE Champion Brock Lesnar and Cain Velasquez from SmackDown on his Instagram page. AEW World Champion Chris Jericho commented “Who’s the skinny fat guy?” under it which might have pointed out what’s wrong with Cain Velasquez.

Brad Shepard reported that Vince McMahon is not at all happy the way Cain Velasquez looks right now. He wants the former UFC Heavyweight Champion to do something about it,

“According to a source in WWE, Vince McMahon wants Cain Velasquez to get ripped, if he’s going to commit. The feeling is that he doesn’t look like a former UFC Heavyweight Champion right now (whereas for example, Brock Lesnar does).
I’m told Velasquez is really nice and willing to learn.”

This could be another reason why Brock Lesnar may have to wait to get his hands on his former MMA nemesis. If the physique of Cain remains the same then Lesnar could look like a clear favorite to become the winner, anyway. It’ll be better to give sometimes to him so that he can really become comfortable with the squared circle and deliver a match worth remembering. Only time will tell whether WWE wants to hold back the match for sometimes or announce the same for Crown Jewel.
