WWE News: Former Bombshell WWE Women’s Champion Confirms Retirement

Pro-wrestling may be unique due to its scripted nature but nobody can deny the original risks that superstars take while performing inside the ring. They took risks putting bodies on the line and endure real pains for the sake of the audience. This often gets them beat up forcing to hang up their boots. Veteran women’s superstar named Victoria has suffered the same consequence in recent times that is forcing her to announce retirement.

Lisa Marie Varon, better known as Victoria to the WWE Universe, will announce retirement from pro wrestling by the end of 2019. WrestleZone’s Kevin Kellam recently interviewed this former bombshell who disclosed the reason behind her decision. It’s nothing but carrying those bruises from a long career span.

The former WWE Women’s Champion Victoria stated that she is wrestling for the past 19 years with a unique style. Fans would call it Strong-style that drained out energies from her body. She can’t bear more pains going through her body and hence decided to call it a quit. Furthermore, the 48-year old female star would go on to reveal the terrifying experience she had in recent times, (courtesy wrestlezone.com)

“My boyfriend picked me up from the airport and I was really quiet and he’s like, ‘what’s wrong?’. I said ‘Man, I can’t do this anymore’ and he says ‘really?’ and then I started crying. I can’t turn my neck, I couldn’t sleep on the plane, I couldn’t get comfortable, my leg was tingling, and I’m 48 and I’m wrestling girls in their 20s. I don’t do strong style, and I’m not really a spot-set kind of girl like ‘spot-spot-spot-spot.’ I’m more about character and facial expressions and ‘less is more.’ I’m just not that crazy where I’m diving out on to chairs; I’m 48 and I have to listen to my body.”

Victoria still has the spirit intact though that should lead her to an honorable retirement path. She added to go away from the squared circle as a wrestler who was still ‘badass’. She does not want fans to remember her as a sloth inside the ring which may force her to up her skills in months to follow. But she would not drag her career, like some other names who should have gone a long time ago.

Ruthless Aggression Era fans must know that Victoria was one of the best in-ring workers of her generation. But she never gets to sit in the same bracket to the likes of Trish Stratus of Lita. Starting from WWE’s developmental, Victoria remained here till 2009 and won the Women’s Championship twice during that period. Later, she joined the TNA promotion to become a five-time Knockouts Champion, there.
