In Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023, Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) is set to take on Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) at Bengaluru in the 15th game of the season, while RCB’s skipper, Faf du Plessis has applauded two new teams which joined IPL in last edition in 2022, Gujarat Titans (GT) and LSG.
While in the last edition in 2022, GT won the title by beating Rajasthan Royals (RR) in the finals, whereas the Lucknow-based side reached the playoffs in their inaugural edition.
Faf du Plessis believes RCB have addressed their shortcomings-
“The importance for me is making sure that we have the same review process on whether the first game, where we were perfect, or the second game, where we were not perfect. Making sure that we look at things that we did well and things that we can improve on. The guys are very confident to try and put in a performance to put that last game down,” said RCB’s skipper.
RCB in the last match faced a drastic batting collapse while chasing 205 against the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) at Eden Gardens and were bowled out for a score of 123. The RCB openers, Virat Kohli and Faf du Plessis looked good until the fourth over on 45 run mark, when Virat was bowled by Sunil Narine, and the team went into an unforgettable middle-order slump.

Faf du Plessis-led RCB has won one game and lost one this season so far. In the last match, they were defeated by Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) by 81 runs. Aakash Chopra thinks the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) are missing Rajat Patidar in their middle order, and it will be their huge concern heading into the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 clash against the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) at their home turf in Bengaluru.
“Both the new teams have played really well. LSG have a very well-balanced squad. When you have a blank canvas at the auction, you can pretty much set up a team really well from a balanced perspective. They are a very good team, so we have to be at the top of our game as well,” concluded the South African star batter on GT & LSG.
Whereas for their 2nd home game in IPL 2023, Faf du Plessis-led side will next face Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) in Bengaluru on April 10th.
