So WWE.com did not forget to hype up the last couple of matches from King of the Ring tourney,
“SmackDown’s portion of the King of the Ring Quarterfinals includes what is sure to be an intense battle between Ali and Elias. In the first round, Ali advanced by defeating Buddy Murphy in a hard-hitting, high-flying affair, while Elias had an assist from Shane McMahon in ousting Kevin Owens from the tournament two weeks ago. Who will emerge victoriously and move one step closer to the crown?”

Elias was the favorite heading into the first match on Smackdown. But he did not need anyone’s help to get the win, at all. He worked on Ali in the early part of the matchup by slamming him into the barricade and also suplexing him onto the ramp. Ali came back with a big Superkick and tried to land the 450-splash. But Elias moved from the spot and connected the right knee. He successfully hit the Drift Away on Ali to pin him and advance to the semi-finale.
In the second matchup, there was a shocking twist in-store where Chad Gable competed against Andrade. Before the match began, Zelina Vega insulted Gable for his short heights to fire him up. Gable started the match with some furious strikes followed by a ChickenWing Suplex. Andrade came back hitting the Three Amigos but Gable converted that into German Suplexes. Andrade hit back with a back elbow but Gable rolled him up to pull off the shocker. He made it to the semifinal of King of the Ring tournament.
EXCLUSIVE: @WWEGable is adamant that his win over Andrade was no fluke, and he vows that no one will be overlooking him once the #KingOfTheRing tournament has concluded. #SDLive pic.twitter.com/jkUWhE8FV3

As we have received the two respective winners from Smackdown, three superstars from Raw have already found their way to the next round. Baron Corbin defeated Cedric Alexander, fair and square to claim his spot. On the other hand, Joe vs. Ricochet ended in a DQ-ed manner resulting in a triple threat on next week’s Raw.
