We are just five days away from the 2020 Royal Rumble PPV event which is yet to be shaped up, fully. Another championship match was confirmed by WWE.com over the United States Championship via an official announcement. Humberto Carrillo will challenge Andrade over this title this Sunday night where not much buildup has been invested.
New Royal Rumble Participants Announced On WWE Raw
It was earlier reported that WWE is looking forward to inserting Humberto Carrillo into the United States title scenario upon return.
The creative team is pretty high on him who could serve as the next babyface superstars from the Mexican region. Hence, this would be a battle between the two same countrymen at Royal Rumble.
WWE Bringing Two Injured Wrestlers For 2020 Royal Rumble Weekend
As seen on this week’s edition of WWE Raw, Humberto Carrillo, returned after the Ladder Match to save Rey Mysterio from an attack on the exposed concrete. He was away since get beating down by Andrade in mid-December in a similar way which ended with a Hammerlock DDT on the floor.
After the saving, Carrillo issued a post-RAW challenge to Andrade during a backstage interview. Apparently, the WWE creative team sanctioned the match to happen this Sunday night. McKenzie Mitchell confirmed the Royal Rumble title match in the newest WWE Now video whereas WWE.com also informed about this,
“Andrade took a month of Humberto Carrillo’s career. Now, Carrillo is out to repay the favor by taking the United States Championship.
The young, up-and-coming Superstar will challenge Andrade for the star-spangled title at the Royal Rumble event, potentially bringing to a head a months-long quest by Carrillo to capture the storied championship.”
