For a couple of years, Nikkita Lyons has been touted to be a future cornerstone figure on the WWE women’s roster. At just 24 years old, her athleticism captured the attention of fans and wrestling pundits but she’s not been able to gain momentums in her favor. Her journey in the WWE has mostly been marred by setbacks as she’s again been dealing with another injury.

According to a report provided by Dave Meltzer in Wrestling Observer Newsletter in February, Nikkita Lyons found herself sidelined from WWE television, once again due to injury. The specifics of the injury were not disclosed by the source which left her fanbase wondering about the severity of the injury and the expected timeline of her absence.

Nikkita Lyons detailed her ACL tear on Instagram

In a follow-up, Nikkita Lyons took to her Instagram and uploaded a video of her match with Blair Davenport to point out the exact moment of injury. She suffered an ACL tear which should keep her out of action for some time. It was a double stomp that made her land awkwardly on her knee to have a crack in her legs.

Furthermore, Nikkita Lyons also provided an update on her recovery timeline during an interview on The Hall of Fame with Booker T and Brad Gilmore. She mentioned that it’s almost been two months since her surgery and expressed hope to return to the ring by Halloween Havoc scheduled for later this year in late October.

It was further emphasized by Nikkita Lyons that she wants to ensure to get fully ready before predicting or setting up the exact timeline before making the comeback on WWE TV. Despite her injury, she remains active in various activities, including music and community events, so that her intention to return, stronger than ever becomes a reality,

“With injuries, it’s kind of day by day. Going back to the out of sight, I’m gonna stay active. I’m not going nowhere. I ain’t going nowhere. That’s why I’m shoving myself in y’all face. Y’all are not gonna see this brick house blow down. That’s where I’m at, and that’s where I cross into my music and different forms of art that I can do, still talking to the people, being involved.”

In January 2023, Nikkita Lyons faced a torn ACL and meniscus, leading to an extended absence for almost a year. She returned to NXT on December 5, she hasn’t competed since a loss to Blair Davenport on January 9, 2024, the night she again picked up an injury.
