As reported earlier, WWE legend Rey Mysterio missed this year’s edition of WrestleMania 36 that appeared to be the most unique of all-time.
It was taped at the WWE Performance Center without any audience in attendance to set new records in terms of social media interactions and viewerships on YouTube. Unfortunately, the future Hall of Famer missed this experience.

Earlier updates suggested that Rey Mysterio was taken out of commission as a result of Coronavirus symptoms. However, that was not the case as the Master of 619 has come out of self-isolation and opened up on what forced him to sit out at home.

It appears that the doctors didn’t want to risk his health amid the COVID-19 pandemic and advised him to stay at home in a situation that is much similar to that of Roman Reigns.

A few days ago, WWE star Rey Mysterio spoke with Fox Sports MX to discuss more on his absence at WrestleMania 36. The interview was transcripted by Comicbook.com, where the Mexican legend explained in Spanish that he was feeling under the weather when WWE started taping shows at the Performance Center. It was the WWE doctors who suggested him to go back home and opt for a quarantine to avoid any potential issues.
Rey Mysterio also clarified that he showed no signs or symptoms of coronavirus and guessed that it was caused by traveling from Orlando to San Diego. The future Hall of Famer is said to be doing okay and should return to TV tapings when WWE thinks they can insert him into the storyline process.
Reports were already out that the absence of Rey Mysterio caused a few changes at the WrestleMania 36 match card. He was originally supposed to go against Andrade for the United States Title at WrestleMania 36. But with Rey being out, the match was turned into Andrade and Angel Garza teaming up against Street Profits for the RAW Tag Team Championships.
Moving forward, this match had to change yet again as Andrade picked up an injury while working in Raw tapings. In the end, WrestleMania 36 match was turned into Angel Garza and Austin Theory vs. Street Profits for the RAW Tag Team Championships. The champions, Montez Ford and Angelo Dawkins ended up retaining the titles.
