Last night’s episode of WWE NXT crowned a new NXT Women’s Champion in the form of Rhea Ripley. She defeated the former champion Shayna Baszler and thereby proved the ongoing speculations true.

Huge Wrestlemania match waiting after last night’s title change at NXT

The NXT crowd was more than happy to get a babyface women’s superstar as the new face of the female division of the company. We have earlier reported the spoiler as noted by several media outlets as this title change may affect the future plans of WWE regarding WWE WrestleMania 36.

The finishing moments of NXT witnessed Baszler locking in the Kirifuda Clutch for several minutes until Rhea Ripley counter with her own Prism submission move.

Baszler released herself out of the move by kicking her out and went to the top rope. Ripley instantly hit a Super Riptide on her opponent to earn the pinfall victory and thus became the new title-holder of the NXT Women’s Division.

It should be noted that Rhea Ripley was the first-ever NXT UK Women’s Champion, but this is her first reign with the main NXT title.

As for Baszler, she won the title back at WWE Evolution on October 28th, 2018, by defeating current WWE Women’s Tag Team Champion Kairi Sane. Her title run will undoubtedly go down as the most dominant one in the history of NXT.

Meanwhile, Rhea Ripley dethroning her from the run has stirred up the pro-wrestling circuit. They are happier for the 23-year-old lady who will gear up for bigger things in the future in the WWE. At the end of the show, the ring was filled with full of fans as new NXT Women’s Champion celebrated with them.

WWE also released post-show footage after NXT went off the air on the USA Network which showed Rhea Ripley continued her celebration with the fans.

It continued for several minutes before she headed back with the title. Jon Quasto was interviewing The Nightmare after her big win who is now being dubbed as the first one to win NXT UK Women’s Title and the NXT Women’s Title.

“To be honest, there’s actually no way to explain exactly how I’m feeling,” Rhea Ripley stated. “The best way I can probably explain it is that I’m ecstatic.

I got to go out there, do what I love, and man, making history once again. That’s what I do, I make history. And then I got to spend my winning time with everyone in Full Sail, and everyone at home.

I even tried to have a mosh pit, you know, I even tried to crowd surf a little bit, but they wouldn’t let go. I guess they were just super happy, you know, like me. But I can’t complain.”
