Reports were out around the internet suggesting that Roman Reigns is not performing at the showcase of immortals. He was originally supposed to feature in the main event of WrestleMania for a record fifth time but that won’t become a reality due to the coronavirus pandemic. He decided to back out of the two-night extravaganza that has aired, this past weekend.

So, the dream match against Goldberg did not happen at WrestleMania 36. As noted earlier, Roman Reigns didn’t feel comfortable performing in a match at the Performance Center in Orlando, Florida because he was in an immunocompromised state. He had an earlier battle with leukemia and didn’t want to take any risk regarding his health.

WWE showed full co-operation to what Roman Reigns has requested and he was taken out of the Universal Championship match at WrestleMania 36. The Bog Dog was present at the WWE Performance Center on the day this match against Goldberg was about to be filmed.
But he pulled himself out of the match after finding out that The Miz was sick. He did not want to compromise with his body, at all.
According to the Wrestling Observer, this could cause a long-term effect for the WWE. There’s a major backstage concern over the status of Roman Reigns once WrestleMania 36 gets over. The coronavirus effect is not going to end anytime, soon. This probably means that he won’t show up to work until the whole situation comes under control. Here’s more from the source,
“The other thing that was brought up to me actually yesterday by someone was that you realize for both of those guys (Roman Reigns and Daniel Bryan), certainly for Roman Reigns, that he probably, and I’m sure this isn’t going to happen, but realistically, he probably shouldn’t be doing this for a long time.
This is not about WrestleMania, this is about long after WrestleMania. We have until this thing is way under control, and I’m not talking about where we’re going to restaurants again, but way under control or there is a vaccine, hopefully, that soon.”
During his battle with leukemia, Roman Reigns had to leave WWE for four months which had a horrific effect on the TV ratings. Raw viewership tanked to such an extent that McMahons had to show up on TV and ensure the fans about quality content.
We hope the situation won’t be that much worse in the absence of the franchise player as WWE already thought of canceling programs if the COVID-19 outbreak does not remain under control.
