The 2011 World Cup-hero Yuvraj Singh has a lot to thank his fans apart from his teammates. He has had been a shining light for the Team India since making his debut in 2000. The southpaw has been an inspiration for many on and off the field. His former teammate S Sreesanth is the latest to join the bandwagon who has lauded Yuvraj’s efforts.

The Kerala-based paceman Sreesanth, who himself faced a tough time post-2013 Indian Premier League (IPL) fixing saga, has often backed Yuvraj. Also, he has termed the Punjab-based veteran all-rounder as the best skipper he has played under during his heydays.

Yuvraj often consoled S Sreesanth:

Besides, the duo shared dressing for the state-based team Punjab. They’ve shared a great bond while representing India at the top-flight cricket.

Even since his retirement, social media is flooded with ‘Thanks Yuvraj’ moments. In the 2007 Twenty20 World Cup, Yuvraj has slammed six sixes on the bowling of Stuart Broad which has become a treasure trove of memories for the 37-year-old star.

The celebrated has last featured against the Windies in 2017 before walking out as a champion while representing IPL franchise Mumbai Indians (MI) in 2019. They’ve recently lifted their fourth record title by registering a thrilling win over Chennai Super Kings (CSK) at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad on May 12.

Well, on the other side, Sreesanth has managed to play in 2011 before being overlooked for the rest of the competitions.

Unfortunately, Yuvraj managed to feature in just four games before being sidelined for the rest of the tourney.

For playing under Yuvraj for Punjab, Sreesanth has felt motivated during his stint with the Punjab Cricket Association (PCA). Yuvraj has also recalled the emotional side of Sreesanth while adding how he has controlled his emotions.

In response, Sreesanth has regarded Yuvraj as the best leader he has played under. He also lavished praise on Yuvraj’s consistency who further dominated the different tourneys of teenage cricket before leaving an impact at the top-level cricket.

“Ha ha ha, I true that. but Yuvi pa you’re the best captain I’ve ever played under. How can I forget my purple cap (1st IPL) You’re the only cricketer who have won the man of the series in U-15,u-19, 20/20 and 50 over World Cup. Always proud to say you’re my brother love and respect always,” Sreesanth responded.

Here’s how S Sreesanth and Yuvraj Singh conversed over Twitter:
