Stephanie McMahon has always remained the brand ambassador for the WWE who has now opened up on the burning matter across the USA. The Black Lives Matter movement has taken over the entire nation of America once again. Following the death of George Floyd, this has become a burning matter around the United States affecting every aspect of life. WWE has also reacted to the issue via Stephanie McMahon that has become to the forefront of public consciousness.
The company released a statement where they addressed the issue and supported the African American employees. During the Women In The Business of Sports panel, Stephanie McMahon also commented on the matter of social change. She confirmed that WWE is taking several initiatives and has done “a number of things” including training and providing resources.
As per Stephanie McMahon, releasing a statement isn’t a solution to the problem. They rather need to go forward with needed steps to address things,
“It’s not enough to just put out a statement and say you’re going to do something. We’ve been doing a number of things across multiple sectors [in WWE].
From employees, we’re looking at different types of training, resources, and platforms to encourage our employees to speak and let them know that they are heard and any action items that come out of that.
We’re looking to partner with a few different organizations to make sure we’re able to amplify and use our platforms in the best way possible. Education being primary. We’re not ready to make any formal announcement, but we’re getting further down the pike in something that will be meaningful for the community.”
Stephanie McMahon resides in the position of the Chief Brand Officer of the WWE which makes this an official statement from the company. Apparently, they are working to bring a meaningful change within WWE. They also see education as one of the key things to accomplish the goal where there won’t be any racial issues, at all.
Triple H also addressed the WWE NXT locker room following the NXT TakeOver: In Your House show, this past Wednesday night. This perhaps happened after Shawn Michaels had a heated backstage argument concerning the current Black Lives Matter movement. At this point, it’s unknown if these two situations are related to each other which could be as they occurred on the same night.
Recently, CM Punk blasted AJ Styles for not speaking up about the racial controversy despite being a respected pro-wrestler throughout the world. In response, Styles stated that he doesn’t intend to react to someone whom he doesn’t respect.
