The French Canadian beauty Maryse signified the Divas Division having a title run that continued for the better part of 2009. Starting from the title win on the December 26, 2008 episode of SmackDown, Maryse became one of the longest-reigning Women’s Champions in WWE history having successful defenses against all the available babyface stars. Her reign ended to Mickie James at Night of Champions on July 26, 2009, but she proved herself to be a vicious heel persona.
