The first chapter of “Undertaker: The Last Ride” document series was released this week right after Money In The Bank was over on the WWE Network. Chapter 1 of the docuseries was titled, “The Greatest Fear” which focussed on Undertaker wrestling with the fear that his in-ring career could be coming to an end, anytime.

Presenting mostly during the timespan of 2017 and 2020, the documentary revealed that The Undertaker suffered a concussion during his match against Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania 30.

He was in the worst condition of his in-ring career which forced him to lose confidence as a performer. It should be noted that Lesnar broke the greatest streak in sports entertainment on that same night of WrestleMania 30 that was a shocker to all of the WWE Universe.

As shown in the documentation, Lesnar slammed The Undertaker hard into the floor which possibly gave him the concussion. He could barely move in the match since that moment. The match was barely finished in pure veteran instincts from him who does not have any memory of the match. He completely lost whereabouts and thus for the first time, he started fearing that it’s perhaps, over.

“What I think happened is between getting older and then not having all the reps and taking all the bumps through the course of the year, eventually, it caught up with me,” The Undertaker said. “I think that explains what happened in New Orleans, I think that’s why the concussion.”

Following that mournful experience that The Undertaker had, we haven’t spotted him in any WWE shows for one long year. WrestleMania 31 witnessed his return in a match against Bray Wyatt.

While being backstage, his confidence was completely shaken before heading into the ring. That’s when Triple H had a conversation with him at the Gorilla Position that charged him up and helped him to make a dominant comeback at the event which has become synonymous for him.

“It was Triple H that really spotted it and I’m waiting to go out just riddled with self-doubt. Triple H came to me, ‘hey, remember who the f**k you are,’” The Undertaker said.

Triple H also gave his thoughts on the moment he shared with the Deadman, backstage at WrestleMania 31.

“I remember that being mind-blowing to me,” Triple H said. “Like, this is the f***king Undertaker. It was hard for me to contemplate that he had those doubts.”

Moving forward, Undertaker had the same nervous feeling while moving into WrestleMania 33 where he was scheduled to compete against Roman Reigns. The Phenome said he began to experience self-doubt, yet again while appearing at that year’s Royal Rumble match in San Antonio, Texas.

“When I got in the Rumble, I knew,” Undertaker continued. “I was like ‘what have I done?’ You’re about to put your whole legacy on the line and you know you have no business being in that match. That match should be somebody else’s.”

“One of my biggest fears is becoming a parody of myself” he concluded.

More chapters on the untold stories from The Undertaker’s illustrious career will be unveiled as this Last Ride documentary continues on WWE Network for weeks to follow.
