Randy Orton is the biggest heel of the Raw roster who is gearing up for some big things moving into the summer. He’s been declared as the Greatest Wrestler Ever after defeating Hall of Famer Edge at the Greatest Wrestling Match Ever at Backlash pay-per-view.
This has reportedly set him up for a future championship feud with WWE Champion Drew McIntyre who’s the biggest babyface of the Raw roster, at this point.
The rumors suggest that Randy Orton vs. McIntyre is the match that WWE might be planning for quite a few weeks now. Wrestletalk reports that the title match is likely going down at SummerSlam in late August. However, at this point, no plan is intact for the biggest event of the summer as Vince McMahon is said to be focused on the Horror Show at Extreme Rules in July, only.

With that being said, it was recently reported that Randy Orton himself pitched the idea of feuding with a WWE NXT Superstar that is with the likes of Tommaso Ciampa or Adam Cole. But the plan changed with the lack of top heels on the RAW brand.
WWE kept using Orton on the main roster instead of pairing him up with one of the NXT Superstars. Or else, the groundwork for a feud against Ciampa was already done as they traded shots on Twitter.

Randy Orton then got into the long-term program with returning Edge who was reportedly scheduled to face each other at SummerSlam 2020 until the latter suffered torn triceps during the main event match at Backlash.
Via wrestlingINC.com, it was noted that there’s still a chance to see The Viper going against an NXT superstar since he’s currently without an opponent,
“Regarding Orton vs. a member of the NXT brand at SummerSlam, Alex McCarthy of talkSPORT noted that Orton pitched the idea after learning of Edge’s injury. Wrestletalk adds that Orton vs. Cole or Ciampa is still a possibility for a later date, even if it’s not happening at SummerSlam.”
Meanwhile, Randy Orton teamed with Andrade and Angel Garza, with Zelina Vega managing them to defeat Big Show and The Viking Raiders on Monday Night RAW. The heel team of Orton, Garza, and Andrade became a big hit with fans over social media.
It escalated the one-off feud between Orton and Big Show. It is a temporary program so that they can compete at “The Horror Show at Extreme Rules” pay-per-view on July 19th.
