Another promising character on WWE Raw could end up being wasted talent. When his name is Ricochet, we could not help but raise eyebrows on whether this is a harsh move from the head honchos of the WWE creative team. But when it comes to the Boss, he does not listen to anybody but to himself, only which appears to be bad news for the emerging superstar.
Sasha Banks & Bayley Happy For Not Getting A Match At Wrestlemania!
Ricochet is coming off of a squash match at WWE Super ShowDown that took place on February 27th. He was scheduled to challenge Brock Lesnar for the WWE Championship which ended up being a completely one-sided affair. Lesnar delivered three German Suplexes followed by an F5 to have the win within two minutes. Such devastating destruction by Lesnar could have meant one thing only.
This loss didn’t do much to help his character this week on WWE RAW, as well as ended up digesting a clean pinfall loss to WWE 24/7 Champion Riddick Moss. This started rumors on the status of the former United States Champion. It was later confirmed that Vince McMahon is no more in favor of pushing the high flying superstar. Thus a burial process has perhaps begun.
Is WWE Protecting AJ Styles From In-Ring Competition Ahead of Wrestlemania 36?
During Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer opened up about Ricochet getting the recent poor treatment. Vince McMahon himself is now “burying” The One And Only, as per him. McMahon seems to have lost faith in Ricochet,
“I don’t know what the mentality is. Obviously… Ricochet’s done. I mean maybe they will… but, it’s Vince! You know he may change his mind next week, but this week he’s done. He’s so done. You know this was a burial without a doubt.”
“Who knows? He just gets these things in his head like with Cedric Alexander he was supposed to get a big push and Vince just buried the guy and now he’s burying another guy.” (courtesy ringsidenews.com)
It’s still not confirmed why Ricochet ended up being on the bad books of senior McMahon in such a short tenure. That too happened when WWE Raw Executive Director Paul Heyman had faith in the former NXT Superstar.
Ricochet was said to have signed a new five-year deal when he was called up to the “main roster”. It means he won’t be quitting the company in the near future. So it’s still highly suspicious why Vince McMahon would treat a bright talent like him in such a poor way.
