ToggleWest Indies all-rounder Rahkeem Cornwall has created a unique record on his Test debut against India in the ongoing second Test match in Jamaica. The lanky off-spinner has become the heaviest cricketer of all time. Cornwall, who is 6ft 5 inches tall and weighs more than 140 kilograms became the heaviest cricketer to play Test cricket.

The bowling all-rounder went past former Australia captain Warwick Armstrong, who weighed 133-139 kg. The tall spinner had a good start to his Test debut as he took a catch of KL Rahul who was dismissed by West Indies skipper Jason Holder. Furthermore, the big man was able to get his first wicket as he dismissed Cheteshwar Pujara for six runs.

India scored 72 runs in the first session after losing two wickets. The West Indies captain Jason Holder won the toss and elected to bowl first. The hosts made two changes to their playing XI whereas the visitors are playing with the same side.

West Indies brought in Jahmar Hamilton and Rahkeem Cornwall into their final XI in place of Shai Hope and Miguel Cummins. Hope could not clear the fitness test whereas Cummins was dropped as he went wicketless in the first match.

“There is a bit of moisture here. So we will try to get into India’s middle-order early. We have a couple of changes. We have to focus on the roles and not the results. We have to be a lot more disciplined. The last time we played here Roston Chase got a fifer,” Jason Holder said at the toss.
Meanwhile, India had convincingly clinched the first Test match by a gargantuan margin of 318 runs. Ajinkya Rahane was awarded the Man of the match as he had scored 183 runs in the Test match. Ishant Sharma and Jasprit Bumrah had taken five-wicket hauls for India.
