Dhawan had a mundane series against West Indies as he scored a total of 27 runs in the three T20Is. Furthermore, the dry run continued for the talismanic batsman as he could gather 38 runs in the two One Day Internationals against the Carribean nation.

Dhawan will like to get back amongst the runs.
Subsequently, Dhawan will like to hit the ground running if he goes on to play the last two ODIs for the A team in Thiruvanthanampuram.
Furthermore, Dhawan is also named in India’s T20I squad for the series against South Africa. The first T20I will be played on 15th September.
On the other hand, Vijay Shankar was picked to be India’s number four in the World Cup. However, he was ruled out of the ODI carnival with a toe injury. KL Rahul had received his chance in place of Shankar in the big event. Subsequently, Shankar was not picked for the tour of the West Indies.

Meanwhile, India A had convincingly won the first match against South Africa A by 69 runs. Axar Patel had scored a fine knock of 60 runs from 36 balls to add the finishing touches to the score. Furthermore, the off-spinner snared two wickets and thus he was awarded the Man of the match. Shivam Dube had also a quickfire knock of 79 runs from 60 balls.
