Sunil Gavaskar praised Cameron Green’s proactive thinking in MI’s last clash-

He likes pace of the pitch. He is brought up in Australia where there was a lot of pace bowling and not so much of spin bowling. So clearly, that worked. That’s good thinking. You have to be proactive in T20 cricket. He started slowly when the spinners were on at that stage.

So he took his time. But, when you have the shots that he has, you can take a bit of time, even in this format of the game. 64 off 40 is a very good return,” Gavaskar told Star Sports.

While in the IPL auction 2023, Green became the second highest earner with INR 17.5 crore in a single IPL auction, as Sam Curran was brought for INR 18.5 core, so there are a lot of expectations from the tall Australian all-rounder, and now with his first IPL fifty, he has shown his potential as before this inning he only managed 35 runs in four innings.

Green came in the 5th over and made a crucial partnership with Ishan Kishan and Tilak Varma as MI’s left-hander dominated against the SRH spinner, he played an anchoring knock, but as the spinner was gone, he started playing attacking shots and finished with two sixes and six boundaries, later added 40 odd runs along with Tim David for 5th wicket to take his side past 190 run mark.

Absolutely, how aggressive he is! He has got all the shots in the book. He took a little bit of pressure of Cameron Green there. Markande was bowling a decent spell there, the way he came out and attacked him, he went after the spinners before he took on Marco Jansen.” said Aaron Finch.

While the 20-year-old Tilak, who came after Suryakumar Yadav’s dismissal in the 12th over added 56 runs along with the Australian batter, as he was dismissed on 37 (17) in the 17th over, the southpaw batter in his match-winning cameo struck four sixes and two boundaries.

Whereas the 23-year-old Aussie all-rounder was later awarded player of the match for his all-round performance, as he registered 1/29 while bowling and a 64* (40) knock, Now as MI has won three games in a row, after losing the first two matches in IPL 2023, they will be looking to continue their winning streak against Punjab Kings (PBKS) on April 22 at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.
