Roman Reigns and Daniel Bryan has been in a feud that initially started before Summerslam. Someone tried to deliver a life-threatening attack to Reigns that appeared to be Rowan. Automatically, the accusations are against Bryan who might be the mastermind behind this. It will eventually lead them to compete in a match.
As per the recent reports, it is likely to take place at the upcoming PPV event. The match could have also taken place at the bygone Summerslam show on August 11th. But WWE officials reportedly scrap those plans that kept both Roman Reigns and Daniel Bryan out of the biggest event of the summer, on a rare occasion.
According to Bryan Alvarez of the Wrestling Observer, WWE originally planned on conducting Roman Reigns vs. Daniel Bryan at SummerSlam 2019. But they took that match off the match card and decided to have a longer build-up so to vest fans’ interest in this feud. This has been a new strategy of Paul Heyman to build up the storylines in more of a compact way rather quickly culminating them.
The belief was this match could take place at September’s Clash Of Champions 2019 PPV. It’s not happening since WWE booked Rowan against him at the PPV. There’s still a possibility that WWE may save it for Hell In A Cell 2019. This could be a bigger blow-off match between Roman Reigns and Daniel Bryan if they stretch the feud without any physical encounter to make a bigger impact.
Here’s more from what Alvarez had to offer on this potential mouth-watering bout,
“Whatever [Vince McMahon] changes in the storyline, the whole idea behind the storyline is to lead to Daniel Bryan vs Roman Reigns. I guess they could do a big swerve and say — Rusev was the guy, but I’m pretty sure we’re gonna get Roman Reigns vs Daniel Bryan.
We’re probably going to get it at Clash Of Champions, but they could hold off until Hell In A Cell.
So that was the idea that they were going to wrestle at SummerSlam. They decided they were gonna do this compelling angle to make people more interested in the match. You can let me know whether you agree with that or not, but that was the idea.”

As of now, Roman Reigns has been able to prove that Rowan was the one who charged into him trying to squash him under those metal structure as well as a car. But Daniel Bryan was not present in the footage used as evidence. So the Planet’s Champion is stating that he knew nothing about those attacks. But that must not be the case if WWE has to present a piece of concrete evidence and thereby planting more seeds to the match.
