AJ Lee is one of the most popular WWE Divas Champion. Critics believe that it was her who carried the division in her heyday. There were not many relevant names in the Divas locker room. Most of the huge names from the female division went into retirement during the 2012-13 season. The former NXT superstar carried the load with a solid title run, thereafter.
WWE gave AJ Lee title runs for three different occasions. She held the championship around her waist for 406 days in combined. One of those reigns continued for 295 days. It was the longest of the WWE Divas era back then. Nikki Bella broke the record in 2015 by surpassing the reign. She held it for 301 days to set a new history.
But, most of the fans and wrestling critics gave the credits to AJ Lee to make the title relevant. Her charisma was a no matchup for any woman present on the roster. Numerous rivalries featuring her is memorable for the fans. It includes the names like Kaitlyn, Natalya, Bella Twins and Paige.
WWE women’s division still misses her a lot. The so-called ‘crazy lady’ went to retirement at an early point of her career. She had plenty of wrestling left inside her when she hung up the boots in 2015. So, the fans do believe that someday she will make her way back to the WWE, again. But, that’s not going to happen as per the claims of Mike Johnson of PWInsider Radio.

AJ Lee decided to leave the WWE for two primary reasons. She was not feeling well from a physical perspective. Her husband CM Punk got into a legal fight with the company. It gave him the feeling of left alone in the situation. The next problem is still continuing. With no positive outcome of the lawsuit, she will choose to stay away from the squared circle.

“They aren’t going to plan that far out in advance. It’s just not how this business works. AJ Lee mentioned in her book that she chose to get out of the ring due to physical issues. It was not an issue with CM Punk and WWE although she probably felt like the child in the middle of a divorce at that point. She was already planning the next stage of her life, beyond professional wrestling. I don’t see her ever coming back.”
It’s unfortunate for the fans that one of the brightest faces of women’s wrestling had to depart earlier. WWE is not going to bring her back either considering they have plenty of backup options in hand. This is why they did not call her up on WWE Raw 25 or even women’s Royal Rumble match. We can say AJ Lee is nowhere near for a comeback.
