WWE News: Huge Wrestlemania Rematch And Rap-Battle Set For Next Week’s Smackdown
Dec 6, 2018 at 7:56 AM
This week, Smackdown came up with yet another interesting episode. The main focus of the programming is towards the WWE TLC event as of now. This is the final PPV of 2018 which should end the year on a good note. Unlike Monday Night Raw, Smackdown is coming up with consistent episodes to make good buildups to the show. Another such episode is waiting for us, next week as two huge segments are official.
Legends attended this week’s Smackdown
WWE has confirmed the main event of the next edition of Smackdown Live. It will be a Wrestlemania rematch between Charlotte Flair and Asuka. Earlier this year, these two delivered a ‘match of the year’ candidate at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome. Now they will try to reincarnate the memory when the ‘b-show’ airs on the USA Network on next Tuesday night.
Here’s the official announcement from WWE.com,
“At WrestleMania 34 in April, Charlotte Flair ended Asuka’s two-and-a-half-year undefeated streak. Next Tuesday, she’ll have the chance to make it 2-0 against The Empress of Tomorrow on SmackDown LIVE. Both Superstars will challenge Becky Lynch for the SmackDown Women’s Championship in the first-ever Women’s TLC Match. Who will win this WrestleMania Rematch? Find out next Tuesday on SmackDown LIVE at 8/7 C on USA Network!”
The rumor was that WWE might be considering this match for Wrestlemania 35, as well. Becky Lynch would have competed against Ronda Rousey leaving these two big names for another outing. But with this match being official, it is unlikely that we will see the same lineup at next year’s Wrestlemania. Meanwhile, whoever wins this match on Smackdown, will go into WWE TLC with big momentums.
Another great segment should be there on Smackdown featuring the prime tag teams of the show. The Usos announced that there will be a rap battle for next Tuesday’s SmackDown. The New Day, The Usos and SmackDown Tag Team Champions The Bar will participate in this fight with the mic in hand.
Last year, The New Day delivered a classic rap-battle against The Usos with Wall-E being the judge on Smackdown. We hope to see another entertaining affair on the show among the three teams who are veterans when it comes to cutting promos. Next week, Smackdown airs from the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.
