This past Tuesday Night, we have officially received the WWE Championship match for Wrestlemania 35. The two superstars to contest in this match penned down the contract for the match to declare one of the main events of the show on April 7th. Daniel Bryan and Kofi Kingston were the two names who signed the contract at the very end of the go-home episode of Smackdown for the biggest event of the year.
But there might have been a big botch during the segment that could keep the WWE Championship match in jeopardy. Apparently, these two superstars have not signed the original contract that they needed to. Rather it was an old contract from the Fastlane pay-per-view. As much as it sounds strange it really happened on live TV raising eyebrows of the fans.
Smackdown Live witnessed an intense contract signing segment between Kofi Kingston and Daniel Bryan that had a huge mistake. It happened during a backstage segment where the challenger of the WWE Championship at Wrestlemania was holding the contract. A close shot at the papers revealed the date written on it was March 10th instead of April 7th. It means that this was the old paper from Fastlane pay-per-view where these two superstars were about to compete in a title match.
anyone else notice that kofi is going to sign a contract that states he gets a match with daniel bryan on march 10th 2019?

But the match never happened since Vince McMahon did not want Kofi Kingston to challenge Daniel Bryan for the WWE Championship. Despite the cancellation, WWE official may have retained the paper and used on this past edition of Smackdown. As you can see above, the Pro Wrestling Sheet disclosed the close shot of the paper. It definitely means that the WWE Championship is still not official.
But we do want to let you know that these are some kayfabe perspectives on WWE TV that does not really matter much in reality. No matter what, Daniel Bryan vs. Kofi Kingston is still official to take place at Wrestlemania from the MetLife Stadium.
But with Vince McMahon’s ongoing vendetta against Kofi Kingston, he might just use this as a loophole trying to bar him from the title match. But this may not be happening at a bigger stage like Wrestlemania 35 where The Boss would be extremely busy with his backstage roles. Rather, we should straight go into the match that the world is waiting to see.
