One of the main events for WWE Stomping Grounds event will witness a rematch for the Universal Championship from WWE Super ShowDown. Seth Rollins will defend the title against Baron Corbin in a match that has failed to garner attention. This is one of the reasons why WWE failed to sell more tickets for the brand new show.
Former WWE Champion To Make A Surprise Return On WWE Raw
Brock Lesnar To Become New WWE Champion In 2019 Fall
So, there’s a desperate try from the company’s perspective to invest the fans into the potential Stomping Grounds main event. On tonight’s episode of WWE Raw, there will be a segment where the challenger announces the special guest referee for his championship match. We guess this is going to be a huge surprise for the fans in attendance that in turn will help to hype up the PPV.
In a report from wwfoldschool.com, they have indicated that WWE already gave hints of who’s going to be the special guest referee of this contest. He is likely to be none other than Mr. Money in the Bank, Brock Lesnar. His inclusion to the match might raise the capacity high, a little bit.
According to @BaronCorbinWWE, @WWERollins is “living on borrowed time”. Who will he choose as the special guest referee for #WWEStompingGrounds tomorrow night on #Raw? #WWESanDiego pic.twitter.com/XHCr5zb327

Here’s the portion from WWE.com preview of this week’s Raw that provided the indication,
“Will Corbin choose Zayn to call the match “down the middle,” based on his work as the outside official this past Monday night, or might Corbin select Rollins’ Raw opponent Kevin Owens, who has also spoken favorably of the former Acting Raw General Manager or might Corbin select Rollins’ Raw opponent Kevin Owens, who has also spoken favorably of the former Acting Raw General Manager?
Or perhaps Corbin will extend an invitation to “Mr. Money in the Bank” Brock Lesnar to purvey some up-close-and-personal paranoia at WWE Stomping Grounds?”

As per the storyline perspective, Brock Lesnar received a hellacious beatdown at the hands of Seth Rollins at Super ShowDown. He also supposedly injured his elbow that was about to put him away from in-ring competition for sometimes. However, if this spoiler turns out to be true then the beast incarnate will be back into the scene much earlier than expected.
Even if he is back for Stomping Grounds, it is not likely to be a piece of good news for the fans since Brock Lesnar does not excite them anymore. But the fact that he is carrying the Money in the Bank makes him an X-factor in the title picture. We can’t wipe out the chances of seeing a potential cash-in, too. So WWE will at least try to keep the uncertainty high around the match by bringing in The Conqueror.
