Future of The Undertaker in WWE might be in jeopardy after a recent announcement. Recently the confirmations have arrived that the legendary name will be appearing at the Starrcast II event. It is going to be an all-star night where veterans will return for autograph and greeting sessions. But there’s a catch associated with this show.
Will the Undertaker appear at Wrestlemania?
How much salary Undertaker gets for appearances?
It is taking place during the All Elite Wrestling’s Double Or Nothing weekend by the end of May. The founders of AEW, Cody Rhodes and the Young Bucks will be there with Undertaker. They have already sent out tweets to have some moments with the greatest sports entertainer of all-time. All of these did not go well with Vince McMahon.
The Chairman of the WWE does consider The Undertaker to be a very special name. He is indeed the most trusted shoulder of the company who is there for more than 25 years. With Wrestlemania right around the corner, Vince McMahon became unhappy with the news that ‘Taker will be appearing at Starrcast II show.
According to Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer, Vince McMahon is furious with the Deadman’s decision. The whole AEW association made him go frustrated about the situation. Starrcast founder Conrad Thompson confirmed that this is not an AEW show, at all. But still, there’re rumors going on about something going on between Undertaker and AEW.
Here’s more from the veteran wrestling journalist confirming that the Starrcast appearance affected McMahon-Taker relationship,
“A whole bunch of things has happened in the last week and one of them is whole Undertaker/Vince dynamic, but it had Vince off and because you know there was definite unhappiness about him doing the Starrcast thing and you know why. So there’s that.”
It’s not that The Undertaker isn’t on the WrestleMania card yet as far as I know, but everything changed. They don’t want the perception. They’re not happy about that (Starrcast) thing and they want him…I don’t know that they want him on the WrestleMania card, but I know there’s the talk of Undertaker on the card, but it’s not like there’s a match set up or anything.”
Undertaker is not new to such signing sessions. But this time around, Vince McMahon is seeing this event as something special. AEW’s bond in this context should be the main reason behind this.
WWE has not booked Undertaker for Wrestlemania, yet. But the creative team has something in store for him for the biggest event of the year. As always, he might perform in a mega-match unless the sour taste is intact between the two parties.
