WWE still has to rely a lot on the WWE legends to go through with the bigger pay-per-view events. Super ShowDown is the latest example where Undertaker and Goldberg received the main-event match but failed to live up to the hypes. Interestingly, Vince McMahon wanted to add another name to the show to make it a success. It was none other than Stone Cold Steve Austin.

However, the former franchise player of WWE denied doing so starting a potential rift. The situation has worsened in recent times, as per the sources. According to reports from The Dirty Sheets, WWE Hall of Famer Stone Cold Steve Austin & Vince McMahon is ‘on the verge of a real-life fallout.’ An upcoming show hosted by Austin has a lot to do with the situation.

We have reported it earlier that Stone Cold Steve Austin will be back on TV from August onwards. A talk-show will debut named Straight Up Steve Austin where the WWE legend will be the host to some celebrity guests. Apparently, WWE did not invite him to be the prime face of the show but the USA Network was trying to boost up the WWE TV ratings. Stone Cold did not take the matter, lightly.

Here’s more on the issue courtesy of wwfoldschool.com,

“Vince McMahon is unhappy that Austin has refused all offers to appear at a WWE PPV in Saudi Arabia. On the other hand, Austin is unhappy about the fact that it was the USA Network that approached him to do a talk show (Straight Up Steve Austin) after RAW (to help increase RAW viewership) and not the WWE.”

Moreover, WWE wanted more of the superstars to appear on the show that is set right after Monday Night Raw from August. But Stone Cold Steve Austin rejected WWE’s input and only invited Becky Lynch to his show. He also nixed the idea of having WWE’s first choice in the guest panel in the form of The Miz and Maryse.

If that’s not it then Stone Cold Steve Austin has also invited Jon Moxley (f.k.a Dean Ambrose in WWE) on his podcast. It would happen days before Moxley performs at the All Out PPV hosted by WWE’s rival brand of AEW on August 31. Moreover, now-AEW star Chris Jericho worked as a middle-man to set up the interview. Obviously, this was more than enough to make Vince McMahon irate. It will be interesting to see if The Boss invites Austin to Raw in the future even after this much heat between the two parties.
