Wrestlemania 35 is just barely a couple of months away from now. We are entering that phase where the storylines for the biggest event will gradually pick up. Royal Rumble will also take place on January 27th where we can expect several returns. These comebacks are an integral part that makes the Road to Wrestlemania more interesting.
Another dream match teased for Batista
The part-time returns have always been a priority of Vince McMahon and co. to sell out the biggest event of the year. One of such returns seems confirmed at this point since WWE is literally hell-bent on this. Batista is the name under speculation whom the company is trying to lock down for April 7th. This could be a huge booster to the hypes for the show.
Previously, we already received teasing of big match between Triple H and Batista for the Show of Shows. These two appeared on Smackdown Live on the 1000th episode for an Evolution reunion. Everything was going smoothly until The Animal took a verbal jab on his former protege. He mentioned how Triple H has never beaten him in his entire career.
This was a clear cut setup for an upcoming Wrestlemania match between these two. We were about to get storyline continuation on this until they hit a roadblock. Triple H tore his pectoral muscle at Crown Jewel and had to undergo surgery. This kept the earlier planned match in jeopardy. However, the officials are still trying to book Batista in a backup plan.
Here’s the update from Slice Wrestling on this situation,
“WWE And Dave Bautista Are Discussing Plans For A Possible Match At #WrestleMania 35. Bautista Is Scheduled To Begin Shooting A New Movie In February Which The Filming Process Could Impact Any WWE Plans. WWE Would Like To Have “Batista” Back For A Major Match At Mania.”
At this point, it is not clear which match will be in-store for the six-time world heavyweight champion at the showcase of immortals. The insider scoops suggest that Triple H will be okay to compete at Wrestlemania 35 using his veteran instincts. In that case, the actual plan would be intact. It is the same retirement match that Batista had asked the WWE, earlier.
In the case of Triple H’s absence, Batista would be gunning for a new opponent. Most probably another Evolution member will be up for a challenge against him. Randy Orton is the speculated option in this situation. However, there can be a number of changes in storylines going forward. So all of these are just speculations apart from the returning news.
