The landscape of the WWE aka entire pro-wrestling industry is about to change in the upcoming days. Within a couple of months, NXT will be airing on the USA Network live each week for 2 hours in prime time. WWE Smackdown is moving to USA network television leaving WWE Network. Also, All Elite Wrestling will be launching their debut show on TNT Network that is likely to be a TV war between the two companies. Plus, the WWE Draft could be back soon.

Ahead of Smackdown moving to FOX and NXT moving to USA Network, there’s been inside talks to hold a ‘hard brand split.’ According to the latest reports from Wrestling Observer Newsletter, WWE officials are discussing holding a WWE Draft in September. Most probably, this might take place following Clash of Champions PPV event to give prominent rosters to both Raw and Smackdown. Additionally, there could be NXT moves to the main roster, as well,
“Right now there is a concept of another draft type of thing to build permanent Raw and Smackdown rosters. What we were originally told is that they wouldn’t be making major changes, but some changes, but this is Vince. Everything is being kept quiet and USA and FOX will be the first to know when the concept is decided.”

The concept of this upcoming WWE Draft is still not clear. But the rumors suggest that more movements from NXT to Raw-Smackdown and vice versa could be happening. For example, Cesaro will attend this weekend’s NXT UK Takeover: Cardiff PPV. The Viking Raiders recently promised to wreak havoc in NXT once again. Since NXT will be going in a direct war with AEW, WWE might use bigger names in this brand.

But the bigger news from this WWE Draft will be the extinction of Wild Card Rule that has been a much-needed thing. Most of the fans and critics did not understand why WWE allowed superstars to cross brands just after the Superstar Shakeup took place in April. Hopefully, the next time the Draft happens, it will keep the distinctions intact between red and blue brand, as wanted by the FOX officials, too.
