In case you follow other promotions of the pro-wrestling industry apart from the WWE, you should know about who they think about world’s best wrestler. Especially the eastern region of the world i.e. Japan fans do think Kenny Omega is the best wrestler present in the pro-wrestling industry. So why wouldn’t WWE want him under their banner?
There have been rumors all around the wrestling world that Kenny Omega might be heading to the WWE. He’s been done it all while being in the New Japan Pro-wrestling promotion. Now it’s time for him to explore the outsider part i.e. the wrestling circuit around the USA. Most probably, he is interested in entering the WWE world, finally.
Even the biggest pro-wrestling promotion of the world seems desperate to sign him under their wings. So they might have reportedly offered him the most lucrative contract ever to a wrestler. The company might allow him to have creative control over his character. This is the rarest that one can expect from the WWE.
Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer Radio reported that ‘perk was not included in their offer to “The Cleaner.”’ (via sescoops.com). This is an extremely uncommon thing that one can expect from the WWE. We have heard that even franchise player like John Cena dares to get such creative controls over his character.
But Kenny Omega is the hottest free agent present today. His next deal will mark the biggest handover in recent history. Also, there has been a sudden arrival of All Elite Wrestling that is being noted as the future rival of the WWE. They are also involved in the tug of war with the WWE while getting Kenny Omega. So this might become an ego-centric issue for the McMahons.
Meanwhile, the man of the hour has confirmed that he is indeed leaving NJPW. During an interview with Tokyo Sports, Kenny Omega stated the following,
“There is no real place for me to fit, so it’s best for me not to be in (NJPW). I can’t be there working under Tanahashi. I don’t think he’s surpassed me, don’t think he’s better. If we can, I want to face him again. But I need time away, and not just from New Japan.”
Kenny Omega dropped the IWGP Heavyweight Championship at the Wrestle Kingdom 13 pay-per-view event at the Tokyo Dome. This might have been his final match under NJPW banner. WWE is looking forward to extending their roster at this moment now that Smackdown is moving to Fox Sports. Getting Omega will help them to get a new franchise player in the blue brand.
