The much-anticipated contest between Roman Reigns and Goldberg can become reality as the seeds of the storyline could already be planted on social media. Reigns posted a tweet via his official handle indirectly taking a shot at the old school legend. Perhaps, it was intentionally done just to instigate him to make a WWE comeback and carry along the angle.

Goldberg Indicates That He Is Returning To Action

As seen nowadays on SmackDown, Roman Reigns gets a modified entrance ever since the show moved to FOX. There’s an extra piece of pad being used to protect his hand when he punches the ground and the pyro goes off. A fan could not resist but ask why a tough guy like Roman Reigns would need this kind of precautionary move.

Well, the face of the SmackDown brand had an interesting answer in-store as he would go on to take a jab at WWE Hall of Famer, Goldberg,

“Nothing to explain Nick. It’s a little piece of pad. So I don’t break my hand on steel grate. I gotta perform like 48 weeks a year man. So that would be stupid.

It would be like,? head butting a door before my match level of stupid. Anyway, have a good day Nick. ??”

For those who didn’t get the internal meaning of the tweet, Roman Reigns referred to one typical ritual of Goldberg who headbutts the door before his matches. While coming back in the WWE in 2016, once he did so to spill blood in his head which can’t be allowed on PG TV of the WWE.

Roman Reigns To Compete In Two Matches At WWE Royal Rumble 2020

So he was informed to stop doing so. Hence, he didn’t do that at SummerSlam 2019 where his last match took place against Dolph Ziggler.

As noted earlier, Roman Reigns mentioning the ritual in his tweet could have been done with the intention of possibly doing a match against Goldberg at a future date. WWE creative team does use social media to carry forward storylines. So who knows if it was the beginning of an angle.

It was earlier reported that Roman Reigns vs. Goldberg is being planned at the first Saudi Arabia PPV of 2020. Now that the show is all set for February 27th, it is possible that a “Spear vs. Spear” match would be on the card in the main event of the show.
