The go-home episode of WWE Raw for Stomping Grounds took place, last night. The headliner for the night was the revelation of special guest referee for Universal title match. There was a fatal-5-way match to declare a new challenger for the US title. Plus, Daniel Bryan appeared on the show as a Wild Card attendant. Spoiler On Guest Referee For Stomping Grounds Main Event
Elias kicked things off for this week’s WWE Raw to reveal a referee’s T-shirt hinting he was the chosen guest referee for the title match. Seth Rollins attacked him from behind with multiple chair shots and cut a promo. After that, the fatal-5-way match’s competitors came out and hit Elias with their finisher before the match was underway.
It was an Elimination match with the lineup of The Miz vs. Bobby Lashley vs. Cesaro vs. Ricochet vs. Braun Strowman. Cesaro suffered the first pinfall via a Running Powerslam. Lashley suffered the same fate after which Ricochet eliminated Strowman with a 630-splash. He got out of the Figure Four Leglock and hit Miz with a Codebreaker and followed with the 630-splash for the win. He will now face Samoa Joe for the US title at Stomping Grounds.
WWE Raw Women’s Champion Becky Lynch was out next to cut a promo. Moments later, Lacey Evans came out and claimed she will beat her at Stomping Grounds as she believes Becky is beatable. Becky got irate and delivered a Bexploder Suplex on Lacey before walking out with her hat.
Seth Rollins attacked Baron Corbin in a backstage segment and informed Charly Caruso that he had more work to do. Smackdown Tag Team Champions Daniel Bryan and Rowan came out on the stage to cut a heel promo to the LA crown. Viking Raiders walked passed these two and squashed two jobbers in a tag team match.
The Sami and Kevin Show was next on WWE Raw with special guest Baron Corbin who announced that EC3 will be the special guest referee for his Universal title shot. Seth Rollins attacked him from behind to lay him down when New Day’s music hit the arena. They came out to set up a 2-out-of-3 Falls Match against
Kevin Owens, Sami Zayn, and Baron Corbin vs. The New Day.
Xavier Woods and Kevin Owens started the match with the latter name going for a senton splash. Woods got his knees up as Zayn made the tag. But Woods quickly rolled him up for the first fall. The match progressed as a miscommunication broke out between them forcing Owens to land a superkick on Corbin. Kofi hit the Trouble in Paradise on Corbin to pick up the win.
AJ Styles returned on WWE Raw in a backstage segment declaring that he is fit to compete. His Club members Gallows and Anderson promised him a victory against the Usos and competed in a match. They missed a Magic Killer while going for a show-off as the Usos landed stereo superkicks for the win.
Roman Reigns walked out next on WWE Raw to cut a promo which Shane McMahon interrupted by appearing on the tron. He denied to come out obliging Reigns’ invitation. So Reigns headed to the backstage to give a beatdown on Shane. A Superman Punch and a huge Spear cut Shane into halves as Reigns left the ring delivering a clear message.
WWE Women’s Tag Team Championships match was next on WWE Raw where the IIconics faced the team of Alexa Bliss and Nikki Cross. Smackdown women’s champion Bayley showed up as the match began as an interference to the challengers. This allowed Billie Kay to roll up Cross to retain their championship in an easy manner.
The main event of this week’s WWE Raw featured a singles contest between Seth Rollins and Daniel Bryan. Rowan hit Rollins with a Claw Slam to disqualify the match, right away. The ring announcer informed that the match would restart. Bryan was able to apply the LeBell Lock but Rollins got out of it. After the match, Baron Corbin attacked Rollins from behind and smashed a chair off his back. He laid Rollins down with an End of Days to end the show.
