It looks like Samoa Joe will finally be back on WWE storylines after a significant hiatus of more than four months. The tapings for next week’s episode of WWE RAW is over which brought some good news for the fans of the Samoan Submission Machine.
After all, it was not soothing to the eyes to see him on commentary rather than destroying people in the ring.
WWE Superstar Toni Storm Speaks On What Motivated Her To Become Wrestler
As reported previously, WWE has already taped next week’s RAW on Monday night from the Wells Fargo Center in Des Moines, Iowa. There won’t be any live episode since the superstars will be on hiatus on the occasion of Christmas.
Update On Samoa Joe Joining WWE Commentary; Is He Leaving Competition?
Spoilers from the taping suggested that Samoa Joe got involved in an angle that would surely set up his return in due course, perhaps the very next week.
The main event of December 23rd episode of WWE Raw witnessed WWE United States Champion Rey Mysterio retaining his championship over Seth Rollins via DQ. An interference from The Authors of Pain was the reason behind this.
Samoa Joe Reveals Shocking Reason Why He Didn’t Win WWE Championship
AOP wanted to put Mysterio through the commentary table but Joe would not move. Standing his ground and facing off with Akam and Rezar did not go down well.
AOP ended up beating Samoa Joe down. Following this, Seth Rollins hit a Stomp on Rey Mysterio to end the show. So it’s evident the returning angle for the former United States Champion has been set up.
WrestlingINC.com hinted that it should only be a matter of time that Samoa Joe returns to action following this happening on WWE Raw,
“It looks like the Joe return angle on next week’s RAW could lead to a six-man match with Rollins and AOP vs. Joe, Mysterio, and Kevin Owens.
That has not been announced for any future events. It’s been reported that Joe will step away from the RAW announce team when he’s able to return, but there’s no word yet on if he will still appear as an analyst for WWE Backstage.”
Samoa Joe has been out of action with a thumb injury. He suffered the injury in early September and was about to get re-evaluated by WWE doctors at the December 30 RAW from the XL Center in Hartford, Connecticut.
But perhaps, it was preponed and doctors have already medically cleared him to compete. This is why he was inserted in physical capacity on WWE Raw.
