WWE Smackdown Preview (04/06/19): Goldberg, Alexa Bliss, Super Showdown
Tonight marks the final televised episode from WWE before they head to Saudi Arabia for Super ShowDown. We expect a final hype-up for all the scheduled matches on Smackdown including the headliner match between The Undertaker and Goldberg. The latter name is all set to make his debut on the blue brand on the verge of this dream match. He will respond to The Undertaker who made his presence felt on last night’s WWE Raw.
The WWE Championship picture will also be in concern as Dolph Ziggler is focused to pick up the prime title from Kofi Kingston. He will try to pick up more momentums in his favor. Additionally, Alexa Bliss appears on Smackdown using the Wild Card Rule advantage. She will be hosting the Moment of Bliss talk-show with a very special guest. These segments are likely to deliver a jam-packed edition of Smackdown from the Sames Auto Arena in Laredo, Texas.
WWE.com has been constantly hyping up this week’s Smackdown with the maiden appearance from Goldberg. This is the first time ever that the former WCW franchise player will show up on the blue brand. No wonder, this appearance was mandatory after his Super ShowDown opponent The Undertaker made a major statement by appearing on this week’s episode of WWE Raw. Here’s what we can expect from Goldberg as clarified by WWE.com,
“Three days before his highly anticipated matchup against The Undertaker at Super ShowDown, WWE Hall of Famer Goldberg will journey to SmackDown LIVE for the first time ever this coming Tuesday!
The former Universal Champion hasn’t set foot in a WWE ring since the night after he battled Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania 33. It does not go unnoticed that Goldberg is choosing to appear on SmackDown, the brand with which The Phenom has long been associated. What are Goldberg’s intentions and what will his rare appearance mean for his once-in-a-lifetime clash with The Deadman next Friday?”

We should note that there could be a surprise in-store on Smackdown. The host venue of the show has already started promoting Undertaker’s appearance on the show, as well. So we may expect The Deadman to confront The Myth before their match on this Friday. This will produce a must-see moment on the show that in turn is likely to pull the TV viewership up from the past few weeks.
Kofi Kingston is focused than ever to present himself as the proudest WWE Champion that one can ever imagine. This past week, he visited his home country of Ghana in South Africa and received the warmest welcome. With the best wishes received from his motherland, he is coming back on Smackdown to finish the unsettled business with Dolph Ziggler. Will he be able to deliver a strong message to his opponent or the show-off will come up with another cheap shot to prevail? We’ll find out when the show airs, live.
There will be no progress in the Smackdown women’s championship storyline for three weeks in a row since the female superstars can’t visit Saudi Arabia. It’s sad to see Bayley getting back the momentum by winning the title at Money in the Bank but could not present herself as a strong champion. Instead, she will have to appear in a talk-show hosted by Alexa Bliss. Little Miss Bliss returns to the blue brand using the Wild Card Rule, as per the confirmations from WWE.com,
“One week after Bayley’s hard-fought victory over Lacey Evans led to post-match chaos between The Lady and an interfering Charlotte Flair, the SmackDown Women’s Champion is scheduled to be Alexa Bliss’ special guest on “A Moment of Bliss.” How will The Goddess of WWE stir the pot in an already highly volatile Women’s division?”

Three days before, he battles all three members of Lucha House Party at WWE Super ShowDown, Lars Sullivan will also feature on Smackdown in an exclusive interview. We have not seen him talking much since his arrival on the main roster. Will he be trying to bring out the anger gathered in his mind? Or else, we may see him victimizing a superstar on the blue brand that has become a regular scene on WWE programming.
Daniel Bryan and Rowan did not receive any opponents for the Smackdown tag team championships ever since winning the title. But a new storyline has begun on last week’s episode when The Heavy Machinery confronted them. Otis and Tucker seemed ready to challenge them for the tag team titles to which the champions backed down. Will they accept a title match for the near future? We’ll find out when Smackdown airs tonight from Laredo, Texas.
