WWE Smackdown Preview (11/06/19)-Kofi Kingston-The New Day Reunites
The monumental Super ShowDown is in the history books of the WWE as we’ll now look forward to the next PPV event. Within two weeks of time, WWE will present the brand new show on the WWE Network named Stomping Grounds. Two prime championship matches from Smackdown for the June 23rd show are already official. So tonight onwards, we will see the buildups for those title scenarios.
Kofi Kingston is still not over with the feud against Dolph Ziggler. The show-off now has more focus towards the title as he gets a new capacity added to the bout. The women’s champion is getting an unthinkable challenge in the form of a Raw-superstar over her title at Stomping Grounds as a fresh rivalry kicks off on the show. The IC title-holder may also receive a new challenger when Smackdown airs, live from the Golden 1 center in Sacramento, California.
Kofi Kingston overcame the odd standing against him at Super ShowDown. He defeated Dolph Ziggler in a fair way by pinning him through a Trouble in Paradise. But the show-off found this a defective win since Xavier Woods was present around the ring who apparently provided a distraction. So, he demanded a title rematch at Stomping Grounds inside a Steel Cage and received it.
Tonight, the champion gets his band of boys back together in a six-man tag team match. Big E is returning to action since after the Wrestlemania week going through his knee injury. It was further worsened by an attack from Kevin Owens, two weeks ago. But hopefully, he is ready to go as WWE.com announced the tag team main event match,
“Tonight on SmackDown LIVE, it will be three-on-three, as The New Day return at full strength to take on Ziggler, Kevin Owens & Sami Zayn in a huge Six-Man Tag Team Match. Big E is back from the knee injury that put him out of action and is ready to back up the WWE Champion and Woods, while Ziggler has found allies in KO & Zayn, who have no love lost with the pancake-loving trio. Who will claim a monumental victory heading into WWE Stomping Grounds?”
Last week, we received a brand new number one contender for the Smackdown women’s championship. A triple threat match took place where Carmella, Charlotte, and Alexa Bliss competed with the latter one picking up the win. So the WWE Raw superstar will now challenge the title-holder from Smackdown at Stomping Grounds.
Now Alexa Bliss is a bonafide former champion in the WWE who had five reigns with women’s titles, prior to this. There’s no wonder that she will try to extend his accolade having the sixth reign. Plus, with the big win in the tag team match on last night’s WWE Raw, she will have the upper hand on the champion. So the question remains whether the champion, Bayley manages to bounce back.
Daniel Bryan and Rowan are the Planet’s Tag Team Champions for quite sometimes. But they are yet to receive a proper challenger for their titles as to establish their legacy as strong champions. The Heavy Machinery hinted that they’d be next in line to challenge the champions for the tag titles. We expect the young tag team officially gets a title match on tonight’s Smackdown.
Andrade tried his best to dethrone the reigning Intercontinental Champion at Super ShowDown PPV. But the champion, Finn Balor’s Demon persona was a no-matchup for him. So he picked up an easy win and that should have put the ongoing feud on Smackdown to rest. Starting from tonight, Balor should receive a new challenger as his opponent. As per the dropped hint on social media, Randy Orton may challenge Balor for his title to start a fresh feud.
