WWE TLC 2018 Match Card, Preview And Prediction: December 16, 2018
It’s that time of the year when we get WWE’s version of ‘Demolition Derby’ also known as WWE TLC. Standing as an acronym for Tables, Ladders, and Chairs, this is perhaps the most popular gimmick based PPVs of all-time. In comparison to earlier years, the hypes might seem a little low for this year’s edition of WWE TLC. Thanks to the non-quality contents from WWE Raw, the audience might have received a bitter taste of WWE programming these days.
Delivering a solid WWE TLC PPV will be the safe option for the officials to bring the attention back to the pro-wrestling audience. Smackdown has been the savior although that set up a dream match on the card involving the female superstars. Three strongest performers of Smackdown women’s roster will create history by performing in the first-ever TLC match. Another Tables, Ladders, and Chairs match from WWE Raw might change the landscape of the show with stakes attached.
Apart from these two main events, there are multiple mouth-watering matches on the show. This includes a WWE Championship dream rematch between AJ Styles and Daniel Bryan. Also, Ronda Rousey will defend her women’s championship at WWE TLC. This is the tenth pay-per-view under the Tables, Ladders and Chairs chronology which comes live from the SAP Center in San Jose, California. WWE Network and Sony Ten 1 network will broadcast it live from 6.30 AM onwards.
Here is the full match card of WWE TLC 2018 with potential outcomes,
Mixed Match Challenge II Finals
Team Mahalicia (Jinder Mahal & Alicia Fox) vs. Team Fabulous Truth (R-Truth & Carmella)
Prediction: Honestly, the Mixed Match Challenge has lost its significance by now. There have been multiple strong teams who could have been the winners and enter Royal Rumble at number 30. Do you find it relevant that any four of these are relevant to such a coveted spot on the prestigious battle royal? WWE Universe could care less about this except for the fun that Team Fabulous Truth brings to the table. This is also the exact reason they will end up winning Mixed Match Challenge at WWE TLC.
SmackDown Tag Team Championship Match
The Bar vs. The Usos vs. The New Day
Prediction: We have seen enough competition among these three teams over the entire year of 2018. But a triple threat match is still somewhat which is unseen for us. Adding a stipulation to the affair could have been an added attraction to this WWE TLC match. But the triple threat rule itself makes this bout a No-disqualification affair. So these three teams will tear apart each other with a potential title change waiting. The Usos are having the momentums by their side who should become new champions.
Natalya vs. Ruby Riott
Prediction: It is one of the most pathetic storylines on WWE Raw in current times. Ruby Riott mentioning the late great Jim ‘The Anvil’ Neidhart in nasty ways, garnering natural heat on her. WWE is likely to use this in her favor to build her as the bonafide heel on WWE Raw. Hence, Natalya will the one to go through a table to digest the loss. This might also pave the way for her to turn into a heel in due course.
Randy Orton vs. Rey Mysterio
Prediction: This feud has been able to come up with a decent storyline, so far. But sometimes reincarnating a way-back angle between two WWE legends just does not click. The same is happening here. Rey Mysterio deserves a lot better and should move on to newer opponents like Andrade Cien Almas, Shinsuke Nakamura and more. He should pick up the win at WWE TLC to close this rivalry for good.
Buddy Murphy vs. Cedric Alexander
Prediction: Cruiserweights are not likely to get more than ten minutes on a PPV match card. But that should be enough for them to mesmerize the crowd. Buddy Murphy has the potential to prove himself a solid champion and WWE should allow that. Alexander does not need the title around his waist at this time. Hence he is likely to end up digesting the pinfall after delivering a five-star affair.
Finn Balor vs. Drew McIntyre
Prediction: Finn Balor has not appeared on WWE Raw courtesy of a storyline attack angle by Drew McIntyre. WWE has started feeding him into the Scottish Psychopath who is yet to finish the former Universal Champion. We assume he will finish the job at WWE TLC. We assume McIntyre will pick up a squash win and go forward to the main-event scene.
Elias vs. Bobby Lashley
Prediction: This whole feud has been a light-hearted entertainer on WWE Raw, this whole time. We won’t be surprised if this match at WWE TLC gets the similar kind of booking. This is the first match for Elias after turning into a babyface on WWE Raw. Hence, he should pick up the win to pick up some momentums on his favor. The rivalry might continue even after this match if enough booking option is not available.
Intercontinental Championship Match
Seth Rollins vs. Dean Ambrose
Prediction: The ‘Burn it Down’ chants are the sweetest and loudest on WWE Raw at this point. It is time for Seth Rollins to move into the main event scene after a long time. This is the only reason why Dean Ambrose should win back the Intercontinental Championship. On a different note, these two have delivered five-star matches in their career. They are likely to do it once again before Rollins drops the title at WWE TLC.
Raw Women’s Championship Match
Ronda Rousey vs. Nia Jax
Prediction: Nia Jax received this match just because of the heat she picked up by breaking the face of Becky Lynch. She is not likely to be the one to break the undefeated streak of Ronda Rousey, at all. But what she is capable of is giving the champ a hell of a beatdown. With Tamina by her side, she will continue to punish Ronda Rousey with her raw power. But ‘the baddest woman the planet’ will find a way to survive in the end.
WWE Championship Match
Daniel Bryan vs. AJ Styles
Prediction: Daniel Bryan has perfectly transitioned into a role which seems despicable to the WWE Universe. He is enjoying every bit of this character proving to be the best heel of the entire WWE roster. He does not deserve to drop the title, at all. AJ Styles might choose to leave the WWE anyway if the contract negotiation does come to a fruition. So as much as the fans would like to see Styles regaining the title, it is not happening at WWE TLC.
Tables, Ladders & Chairs Match For The SmackDown Women’s Championship
Becky Lynch vs. Charlotte Flair vs. Asuka
Prediction: This lineup signifies the legacy that Tables, Ladders, and Chairs matches have built up throughout the last decade. Women superstars of the delivered classic matches in 2018 and will come up another installment at WWE TLC. Hell will break loose during this showdown between these three names. Anyone from these three can win the match depending on how WWE’s Wrestlemania plans would be. Still, Asuka seems the favorite to win his inaugural title on the main roster. This opens the path for Charlotte and Becky to enter the Royal Rumble and win it to set up a match against Ronda Rousey.
Tables, Ladders & Chairs Match (If Braun Strowman wins he earns a Universal Title shot if Baron Corbin wins he becomes Raw General Manager permanently)
Braun Strowman vs. Baron Corbin
Prediction: Speculations suggest that Braun Strowman will not be able to compete in this Tables, Ladders, and Chairs match due to his injury. In that case, Kurt Angle could show up as his replacement and also save his spot on WWE Raw. In this case, a win from Angle seems certain. But contradictory reports suggest that Corbin can bring Lars Sullivan as his protector at WWE TLC. If this happens then he will pick up the win to become the permanent GM of WWE Raw. This will continue the storyline angle with authoritative power on the flagship show heading into 2019. The latter option seems most likely to happen as the Era of Baron Corbin officially begins on Monday Night Raw.
